Web Designer - Legatum - Dubai
Operating out of our headquarters in Dubai, Legatum employs a dedicated, passionate team of communications professionals and we are looking for a knowledgeable individual who will bring new skills and a vibrant sense of creativity to our organisation. This role requires a dynamic and highly organised team player to design new websites and applications for our online ventures and help maintain and improve existing ones. A good understanding and genuine passion for all things digital is a must.
Key Responsibilities
- Create design prototypes, including graphic design, UI, navigation, and content layout for group websites, apps and other digital media.
- Build websites using technologies that conform to W3C standards and are universally accessible.
- Perform maintenance and updates to existing websites and CMS systems as required; ensure that brand continuity is always maintained.
- Contribute to the overall development of the online digital strategy and of the Legatum group websites as a whole.
- Provide maintenance and content creation for the group social media presences
- Maintain and extend the corporate intranet
Requirements
- Keen understanding of design, with a particular focus on web design, including the latest trends and technologies, as well as knowledge of the wider digital media landscape.
- Working knowledge of HTML 5, CSS 3 and Javascript, together with proven experience in creating immersive digital content
- A good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues and best practice.
- Advanced computer literacy skills across design and wider publishing platforms including Mac and PC.
- Positive, high energy team player, enthusiastic in mentality and approach
- Ability to independently prioritise workflow whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure, multitask and deliver desired results.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Integrity, a desire to learn, enthusiasm, humility and diligence.
- Native English speaker (no other language is required)
- Background in communications, graphic design or publishing, combined with college courses in design or marketing communications.
- Previous experience of working within a fast-paced Internet marketing company or design agency
- Two to four years' experience in web design, including a minimum of one year producing table-less, XHTML, standards-compliant cross browser and gracefully degrading code.
- Superior knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques and a strong online portfolio displaying user-centred design
- Experience of designing for mobile devices would be an advantage, along with experience with web database and content management systems would also be an
advantage.
- NGO and/or investment organisation experience would be useful.
