Description
- Brainstorming and mocking up design ideas
- Presenting ideas to clients
- Meeting with clients and adjusting designs
- Working with other developers, designers
- Developing design briefs by gathering info and data though research
- Developing design projects from research and concept creation through to production and supervision of third party implementation
- Finalizing artwork for printing
Qualifications
- A minimum of a degree in Graphic Design or an equivalent design degree from an accredited university
- 1/2 years experience
- Language: Impeccable English & working Arabic are a must, a third language is welcome
- Computer literacy: Acrobat, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is must.
- Creative thinker with written and oral communications skills
- Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Have the right mix of skill, motivation and enthusiasm
- Self motivated, detail-oriented and organized
- Have a capacity for creative problem solving

Design Intern - AltCity - Lebanon
The Design Intern will be tasked with making exciting designs for AltCity events, website, social media channels, items at the space, and more. We are keen on having designers that both have good experience, but who also want to grow to be much better designers, develop their professional portfolio, and to make cutting-edge designs that do nothing less than WOW people. While this is an unpaid internship, we are also happy to offer the intern co-working space to do their own work from AltCity.
If you don't have your own online portfolio, we will also help you develop one during the period of this internship.
Multiple positions are available. We will figure out specific projects and tasks for each Design Intern, suited to the skills, passions, interests of each person.
Main Tasks
- design graphics, icons, logos, posters, 3d sketches, and multimedia (animation, stop-motion, etc) for events at AltCity, projects, the AltCity website, and AltCity social media channels
- work on both still graphics and animations using simple tools (that the designer knows, or that we have access to at AltCity)
- develop basic content, graphics, infographics, or animation videos for e-learning modules and social impact initiatives
- other fun/exciting projects that emerge!
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- substantial experience in different elements of graphic design
- have a university degree in graphic design or a related field, or be a student in such a field (strongly encouraged, not required)
- ability to communicate in Arabic and English effectively (written & spoken)
- ability to multitask
- detail-oriented, and with a passion for excellence
- ability to meet deadlines
- enthusiastic, dynamic, and reliable
- strong preference for the Design Intern to have his/her own laptop to work on, with tools/programs that designer is most familiar with
