blogspot stuff: adding a background color to the date header of the awesome.inc template

Find this code in the HTML editor (widgets expanded, of course):
.main-inner .widget h2.date-header span {
  font: $(date.font);
  display: block;
  padding: .5em 15px;
  border-left: $(date.border.size) solid $(date.border.color);
  border-right: $(date.border.size) solid $(date.border.color);
}

Then replace that one with this one:
.main-inner .widget h2.date-header span {
  font: $(date.font);
  padding: 1px;
  margin-left: 14px;
  border-left: $(date.border.size) solid $(date.border.color);
  border-right: $(date.border.size) solid $(date.border.color);
  background: #yourhexcode
}

As you can see I have removed one line and also changed the padding. I also added a left margin in order to align stuff, your values may again be quite different than these. These are things that looked good with my particular design, you may want to go with other values or even keep the block display altogether, in which case the colored area will stretch across the width of the post as a bar.

We’re looking for a Visual Designer with a focus on campaign-oriented design that also has strong illustration abilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the FreshBooks experience as it relates to marketing to a wide variety of audiences. You can create and adapt creative assets (web pages, email campaigns, banner ads, print and event collaterals) to suit multiple audiences and approaches. You will be working extremely closely with our Art Director and Marketing Managers to deliver on visual assets to support their targeted campaigns.

As a Visual Designer at FreshBooks your key responsibilities will include:
- Visual Design: Creating mockups of digital, print and event marketing assets (banner ads, postcards, t-shirts etc.) and whatever else we throw at you!
- Design Implementation: Turning your mockups into finished CSS/HTML webpages or following through on print production to be able to deliver the experience you’ve designed.
- Illustration: You should be able to create original illustrations that follow visual guidelines.

Desired Skills and Experience
You will be able to contribute more effectively if you have the following background:
- Degree in Visual Design from a College or University (York/Sheridan, OCAD, Humber, UofT, Ryerson, etc,.)
- A creative passion for illustration, and visual design principles.

Lastly, the number of years experience doesn’t matter, but specific experience in campaign-based visual design is a requirement:

A design job at FreshBooks isn’t really the type of design job you would get elsewhere in Toronto. We’re not a bank, or an insurance company, or a workaholic-driven advertising agency. We’re a software-as-a-service company who sets people up to be themselves, and bring themselves to their work, yet be a part of something bigger than themselves. At FreshBooks, you will be encouraged to grow as an individual, and will have the support of an incredibly talented Design and Development team who has been shaping the world of online invoicing for the past several years.

Send CV and portfolio along with samples of the following to careers@freshbooks.com
- Work that demonstrate a campaign you created that spanned multiple media (print, web etc...)
- Work that contains original illustration.
